Seven Fire Engines Battle Roof-Engulfing Flames
A blaze ripped through a house in Marden, Tonbridge, after a tumble dryer caught fire, believed to be an accidental spark. Seven fire engines and a height vehicle were rushed to Campion Way as flames spread quickly up to the roof.
Firefighters decked out in breathing gear doused the fire using hose reel jets, main jets, and fog spikes to bring the inferno under control.
Two Treated for Smoke Inhalation, Cat Sadly Dies
Emergency crews handed two residents to SECAmb paramedics as a precaution over suspected smoke inhalation. Tragically, a cat was found dead at the scene.
The Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s Volunteer Response Team also arrived to support those affected by the terrifying ordeal.

Following the incident, firefighters have urged the public to keep tumble dryers in tip-top condition. They warn:
