Man Shot in Broad Daylight Amid Orpington Chaos
Gunfire Erupts in Orpington Street
Police were called to Church Hill, Orpington, at 3.51pm on Wednesday, April 27, after the London Ambulance Service reported a shooting. Specialist firearms officers rushed to the scene.
A 30-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital and remains there. Though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, they may cause lasting damage.
Suspects Flee in Burned-Out Car
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Pearce revealed the victim was walking when unknown shooters opened fire before speeding off in a white Kia Sportage towards Old Priory Avenue.
The getaway car was later discovered burnt out in Sheldon Gardens.
“This attack took place in broad daylight and shocked onlookers who quickly helped the victim. We are appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle or caught dash cam footage to come forward,” said DCI Pearce.
