Police are probing after a woman was found dead inside a Swindon house on Friday evening.
Tragic death at Swindon property
At around 7pm on 21 November, officers rushed to a disturbance reported at a home on Baydon Close, Moredon.
Inside, they discovered a woman in her 50s not breathing. Emergency services tried their best, but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed. No other injuries were reported.
Investigation underway, teenager in custody
A police cordon remains in place at the property as detectives work to piece together what happened. A teenage girl has been arrested and taken for questioning in connection with the death.
Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “This is a serious incident in which a woman has sadly died. We have set up a cordon at the address while an investigation is carried out. This is likely to remain in place overnight and throughout tomorrow.
I can confirm that we have arrested a teenage girl in connection with this incident and we are not looking for anyone else. We would encourage people not to speculate on the circumstances around this incident.
