A 14-year-old girl has tragically died after falling from a height at The Quarterdeck, a tower block on the Isle of Dogs, East London. Emergency services were scrambled at around 5pm on Monday, December 11, following reports of the fall.
Rushed to Hospital but Couldn’t Be Saved
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the teenager was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. Despite intensive care, she sadly passed away two days later on Wednesday, December 13. Police are working closely with the coroner to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Police were called at 5pm on Monday to reports of a 14-year-old girl falling from height at The Quarterdeck,” said a Met spokesperson. “Officers and paramedics attended immediately. The girl was taken to hospital where she tragically died on December 13. Her family has been informed, and our investigation continues.”
Emergency Response in Minutes
The London Ambulance Service rushed several teams including an advanced paramedic and an air ambulance crew to the scene. They arrived within two minutes and provided life-saving treatment before transferring the girl to a major trauma centre.
