Young Man Fatally Shot in Southeast DC
Tragedy struck Southeast D.C. on November 4, 2023, when 22-year-old Charles Towles was gunned down. The fatal shooting happened around 3:45 PM on the 1400 block of L Street SE.
Fast Police Response Fails to Save Victim
First District officers rushed to the scene after reports of gunfire. They found Towles suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services quickly arrived, but despite their best efforts, Towles was pronounced dead at the scene.
