Late-Night Shooting Rocks Orpington
Chaos erupted in Orpington last night when three teenagers were caught in a terrifying triple shooting. Police and the London Ambulance Service rushed to Otlinge Road at around 10pm on August 7 after reports of a man shot. The victims include an 18-year-old and two 14-year-old boys, all suffering gunshot wounds.
Victims Treated and Taken to Hospital
Emergency crews found the 18-year-old with injuries at the scene. He was treated immediately and taken to hospital with injuries thankfully not life-threatening. Police then discovered the two 14-year-olds with gunshot wounds on nearby Yalding Grove. They were also hospitalised and are in stable condition.
Police Vow to Crack Down on Violent Crime
Detective Inspector Raymond Sekalongo of Trident said, “Tackling violent crime in London remains our absolute focus and reducing shootings is key to that. We understand this incident will cause concern within the community. We are carrying out fast-time enquiries to ensure any suspect is caught. Officers will also remain in the area to listen and support residents. Please approach them if you need to.”
Ongoing Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses
A crime scene is still in place as officers investigate the shooting’s circumstances. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that all three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
