Two Men Busted in Acton Drug Sting After Helmetless Moped Stop

Police from the Violent Crime Taskforce (VCTF) seized drugs and arrested two men suspected of drug supply after catching them on a moped in Acton.

Helmetless Rider Sparks Police Stop

At 4pm on Tuesday, 27 October, officers spotted a moped passenger riding helmet-free along Sixth Avenue, a hotspot for moped robberies. The pair were stopped on nearby First Avenue for a stop and search.

Drugs and Phones Reveal Supply Links

The two men, aged 23 and 19, were found carrying Class B drugs. Mobile phones recovered from them contained texts suggesting deals involving Class A and B substances. Both were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and involvement in Class A drug supply.

Ecstasy and MDMA Found in Home Search

A follow-up search at one suspect’s home uncovered suspected ecstasy and MDMA, currently awaiting testing. The pair remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Detective Inspector Domenica Catino, VCTF, said: “Our officers are targeting areas known for moped crime and drug activity to protect our communities. Stop and search has enabled us to seize a significant amount of drugs and disrupt related violence.”
