Two Men Arrested Over Murder of Footballer Cody Fisher
Police have arrested two men suspected of murdering footballer Cody Fisher, who was fatally stabbed at a Birmingham nightclub on Boxing Day.
The first, a 22-year-old, was detained just after midnight at a city centre address in Birmingham. The second, aged 21, was arrested in London.
The Deadly Night at Crane Nightclub
Cody Fisher was stabbed shortly before midnight on Boxing Day inside the Crane nightclub on Adderley Street. The attack happened on the venue’s first floor.
Homicide Team Ramps Up Investigation
“We’re making good progress in our investigation and are building a better picture of what happened,” said DCI Ian Ingram from the Homicide team.
“We’ve been really pleased with the response from the public and have already had a number of witness accounts and images sent through, which will help with our investigation.
“It’s vital that we hear from everybody who saw any part of what happened that night – no matter how insignificant they think it might be.
“Cody’s family and friends are devastated by what happened, and we’ll continue to work to bring them answers.”
Public Appeal for Information
Police have set up a dedicated webpage for anyone with information, photos, or videos from Boxing Day at the Crane nightclub to come forward and assist the investigation.
