Busted in a Flash! Two Men Nabbed Trying to Burgle Former Experian Building
Quick-Thinking Cops Make Swift Arrests
Police swooped on Electric Avenue, Lenton, on Wednesday night after reports of a break-in at the former Experian site. Just minutes after the alarm raised at 9.16pm, officers spotted a suspect loitering near a bus stop close to the building. They detained him at 9.25pm.
Second Suspect Caught Fleeing Scene
A second man, matching the burglar’s description, was found nearby shortly after trying to leg it from officers. Police didn’t waste time.
Crowbars and Ripsaw Found in Suspects’ Car
Keys seized from the suspects led police to a nearby vehicle where crowbars and a ripsaw were found — tools perfect for a break-in. Thankfully, nothing appears to have been stolen from the site.
Police Praise Fast Response, Appeal for Witnesses
PC Joseph Doherty of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Thanks to the rapid response of our officers, we detained two suspects within minutes of the call. It seems they were trying to nick equipment from the disused building. That’s simply not on.”
He added: “Our inquiries are ongoing. Anyone with info should call police on 101 quoting incident 816 of 28 June 2023 or get in touch anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
