Tragic Boxing Day Blaze Claims Life in West Molesey

Surrey Fire and Rescue have launched a probe after a deadly fire ripped through a flat on Boxing Day, December 26th. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was found dead at the scene on Hurst Road, West Molesey.

Joint Fire and Police Investigation Underway

Firefighters from Surrey and the London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene at around 7:30 am, with Surrey Police officers also responding. The cause of the fire is still unclear, prompting a joint investigation between the fire service and police.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“Officers were called to an address in Hurst Road, West Molesey, at around 7:30am on 26 December, after a fire broke out at a flat,” a Surrey Police spokesman said.

“A person who was in the property when the fire broke out was sadly declared dead at the scene.”

“Fire and ambulance crews were also in attendance. We are working with our colleagues from the fire service to establish the circumstances surrounding the blaze.”
