Armed Police Raid Hayling Island Flats, One Man Arrested
Armed cops, backed by public order officers and a sniffer dog unit, swooped on a property on Hayling Island tonight. The dramatic raid happened just after 10.30pm in Winsor Close. One man was detained and arrested on the scene.
Police Descend in Force
A convoy of police vehicles rolled in, including an unmarked white Mercedes van and two BMW X5s packed with armed officers. Dressed in riot gear, around two dozen officers flooded the block of flats. They shouted at the male occupant of a ground floor flat to get on the floor before storming inside.
Neighbours Told to Stay Indoors
Local residents were warned to remain inside for their safety. One officer reassured them, “There is nothing for you to worry about.” The operation was swift but tense.
Police Speak Out
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson revealed: “Police visited an address to seize a vehicle believed to be involved in three road traffic collisions.” The suspect’s arrest follows an intense search linked to the incidents.
