Hackney Shooting Victim Identified as Police Hunt Witnesses

The man fatally shot in Hackney has been named as 31-year-old Patrick Anzy. Police rushed to Gillett Square, Dalston, just before 1am on Saturday, 8 May, after reports of gunfire.

Paramedics found Patrick severely injured but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem is scheduled for Tuesday, 11 May. So far, no arrests have been made.

Detectives Plead for Witnesses to Come Forward

Detective Inspector Andy McDonald of Specialist Crime urged anyone in the area to speak up. He said, “I am very keen to speak to anyone who was in Gillett Square at the time who may have witnessed the murder.”

He added Patrick was attacked near Boleyn Road, N16, in the early hours, and there could be several witnesses who heard or saw something crucial.
