Hit-and-Run Shocker in Chatham: Woman Seriously Injured
A hit-and-run crash has left a woman seriously hurt while she was out walking her dog in Chatham. The terrifying collision happened at around 3.50pm on Friday, 5 January 2024, on Princes Avenue.
Black Car Flees Scene After Smashing Into Pedestrian
Police say a small black car pulled out of Swift Crescent and slammed into the pedestrian. The driver then sped off, leaving the scene before emergency crews arrived. Another vehicle involved was a black Vauxhall Corsa, whose driver suffered minor injuries.
The injured woman was treated by South East Coast Ambulance Service and taken to hospital, where she is now stable.
Kent Police Launch Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses
PC Eilish McLaughlin is leading the investigation and has made a direct plea:
“We are urging anyone who saw this collision or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. If you have any information about the small black car that fled the scene, please get in touch.”
