A woman was rushed to hospital and a man hauled in by cops after a dramatic car crash in Ruislip on Friday night (April 11).
Car Flips After Hitting Pedestrian in Ruislip
Emergency services were scrambled to Field End Road around 8:40pm following reports a car struck a pedestrian before flipping onto its roof near the roundabout by Victoria Road and Eastcote Lane.
Man Arrested for Drug Driving
Officers arrested a 39-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of drug driving, the Metropolitan Police confirmed. He remains in custody while investigations carry on.
“Officers were called after a car hit a pedestrian,” said a Met Police spokesperson. “The victim, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
Swift Emergency Response and Traffic Chaos
The London Ambulance Service dispatched an ambulance crew and incident response officer immediately. A spokesperson said: “We treated a person at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
Photos from the scene show the overturned vehicle surrounded by police cordons. Traffic was diverted for hours with the northern side of the roundabout blocked off.
Bus routes 114 and 282 were hit by delays as police managed the chaos.
Road Reopens as Police Probe Continues
The road finally reopened at around 11:15pm after recovery efforts. Meanwhile, the Met Police are probing the cause of the smash and urge witnesses or those with dashcam footage to get in touch.
