Woman Left Fighting for Life After Axe Attack in Ilford

Detectives are hunting for witnesses and dashcam footage after a brutal axe attack in Ilford left a woman critically injured.

Attack Unfolded Inside Home

Police were called at 2.08pm on Friday following reports of a woman attacked with an axe at a house on Princes Road. Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene.

A 53-year-old woman was found seriously hurt. She received emergency treatment on site before being rushed to hospital. She remains in critical condition.

Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses

Detective Inspector Sean Treweek, leading the probe, urged the public to come forward. “If you have any information about the incident or dashcam footage from Princes Road, Dukes Road, or Crown Road on Friday afternoon, please contact police on 101, quoting reference 3935/09Apr.”

Witnesses can also report anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Suspect in Custody

One suspect has been charged with offences related to the attack and remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
