Cybercrooks Leak Stolen NHS Patient Data Online

Sensitive data from an NHS provider has been published online by a notorious criminal group following a cyber attack.

Synnovis Targeted in Russian Hack Attack

NHS England confirmed that patient information hacked from Synnovis, which handles pathology and blood test services in southeast London, has been dumped online. The ransomware strike hit the company on June 3 and is believed to be the work of the Russian cyber gang Qilin.

NHS Scrambles to Assess the Fallout

In a statement on Friday, NHS England warned: “NHS England has been made aware that the cybercriminal group published data last night which they are claiming belongs to Synnovis and was stolen as part of this attack.”

They added they are working closely with Synnovis, the National Cyber Security Centre, and partners to quickly figure out exactly what data was leaked and whether it includes NHS patient details.

Public Urged to Stay Alert Amid Rising Security Fears

The incident has sparked serious concerns over patient privacy and data security.

The National Cyber Security Centre is leading the ongoing investigation to establish the breach’s full scale and prevent further damage.

Patients and the public are urged to watch for official NHS updates as the situation unfolds.
