Massive Search Launched for Missing Timothy in Essex
Essex Search and Rescue (ESAR) has scoured over 4 square miles in a massive hunt for missing birdwatcher Timothy. The search covered key spots like Hylands Park, Meadgate Avenue, and stretches along the River Chelmer. Canoe teams also combed a 4km section of the river, clocking up 375 hours of volunteer effort from 31 dedicated helpers.
Community Rallies as Police Push for Leads
Detective Superintendent Scott Egerton praised the public’s support, saying: “This has been an extensive investigation so far and we are continuing to do everything possible to find Timothy. The support from the public has been fantastic and I’d like to thank the members of the community who have contacted us with information so far.”
Timothy’s Last Known Whereabouts and Key Details
- Timothy is a keen birdwatcher, often frequenting Baddow, the A1114, Hylands Park, and Meadgate Avenue.
- He is typically seen wearing a distinctive yellow high-visibility jacket.
- Investigators have already released images of him in that jacket to aid the search.
Police Seek Man Seen With Timothy in JD Sports
Officers are also trying to identify a man thought to be an acquaintance of Timothy. He was spotted with Timothy in early December, buying trainers from JD Sports in High Chelmer.
“If you can help us identify this man or if you’ve seen Timothy or have any information about where he is, please call us on 101 immediately.”
The search continues relentlessly. Anyone with information is urged to come forward and help bring Timothy home.
