M1 in Bedfordshire SHUT Both Ways After Horror Crash
The M1 is completely closed in Bedfordshire after a serious collision between a car and a lorry near Junction 11A. Both northbound and southbound carriageways are blocked.
Massive Delays as Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Southbound is closed between Junction 12 (Toddington) and Junction 11, while northbound is shut from Junction 11 to Junction 11A. Bedfordshire Police are leading the emergency response, and an Air Ambulance has been scrambled to the scene.
Follow These Diversions Now
- Southbound drivers: Exit at J12 and turn right onto the B5120.
- Follow B5120 south through Toddington to Houghton Regis.
- At High Street, take the first exit east along High Street and The Green.
- At roundabout with Park Road North, take the third exit south.
- At the next roundabout with the A505, take the first exit east to re-join the M1 at J11.
Serious Injuries Reported – Closure Could Last Hours
As of 5:29pm, the northbound carriageway is down to one lane. The southbound side near Junction 11 is expected to remain closed for several hours. Drivers involved have suffered life-changing injuries.
“Any witnesses are urged to contact Sgt Simon Cooper on 101, quoting incident 253 of 1 December,” Bedfordshire Police said.
