Teen Charged with Murder in Fatal Jodie Chesney Stabbing
Detectives have charged a 15-year-old boy with the murder of Jodie Chesney following her fatal stabbing in Harold Hill. The teen was arrested in London on Friday, 8 March, and is set to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 11 March.
More Arrests as Investigation Expands
The probe has seen four more arrests. An 18-year-old man from Romford remains in custody, held on suspicion of murder. Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman from Dagenham, along with a 17-year-old boy, have been arrested for assisting an offender. All were detained on Sunday, 10 March, and are still in custody while inquiries continue.
How the Tragedy Unfolded
Jodie Chesney was found with a stab wound in a park near St Neot’s Road, Harold Hill, on the evening of Friday, 1 March. She was pronounced dead at 10:26pm.
Earlier in the investigation, 20-year-old Manuel Petrovic from Romford was arrested on Tuesday, 6 March. Charged with murder, he appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 9 March, and will next face the Old Bailey on Monday, 11 March.
