26-year-old Man Sentenced To 10 Years In Jail For Series Of Sexual Offences In Forth Valley Area

A 26-year-old man, Karl Calder-Harley, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a series of sexual offences, including rape, in the Forth Valley area. The verdict was delivered on Tuesday, 10 October 2023, at the High Court in Edinburgh. In addition to his prison sentence, Calder-Harley has been placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely and given a 99-year non-harassment order.

Calder-Harley had been found guilty of multiple offences, committed against two women and a teenage girl between June 2013 and May 2021. These offences involved violent and controlling behavior towards his victims, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

Detective Inspector Forbes Wilson of the Forth Valley Public Protection Unit expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the case. He stated, “Calder-Harley conducted violent and controlling behavior towards his victims, and I hope this verdict will bring some form of closure for them.” He reassured the public that Police Scotland is fully committed to bringing those responsible for sexual and physical abuse crimes to justice. The police force works closely with partner agencies in the justice and third sector to support victims and conduct thorough investigations.

DI Forbes Wilson urged anyone with concerns or information related to sexual offences, regardless of how much time has passed, to come forward and report it to the authorities. He encouraged individuals to contact Police Scotland via the non-emergency number 101 or make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
