Rapist Jailed for Nearly Seven Years After Attacking Student in Bristol

A 45-year-old man has been locked up for six years and nine months for raping a 19-year-old student in Bristol back in 2019.

Horrific Attack at Victim’s Home

Mohsen Gheibi, from Stapleton Road, Easton, was convicted at Bristol Crown Court on Friday (10 June). The court heard how Gheibi followed the young woman home and attacked her in her bedroom.

The victim, who remains anonymous for legal reasons, described how Gheibi was walking alongside her before he followed her inside. “I was frozen in fear and out of control,” she said.

Victim’s Heartbreaking Statement

In a powerful victim impact statement, she revealed how the trauma shattered her life:

“The dreams I held where I felt like I could do anything, were now replaced with shame, disgust, and hatred for myself. I was numb, frozen in time as the world passed by.”

“I put my life on hold for three years to seek justice. I’m not the same person I used to be. I had to fight for my life, reshape it, and rebuild myself from the ground up.”

“I hope no one goes through what I have because I know I am lucky to be alive today.”

Police Praise Victim’s Bravery, Urge Others to Speak Up

The victim waited four days before reporting the rape, unsure if anyone would believe her. Gheibi was arrested six days after coming forward.

Detective Constable Katrina Collier condemned Gheibi’s “no remorse” attitude and praised the victim’s “tremendous courage and strength.”

“Coming forward and reporting rape and sexual assault is incredibly hard, but we will believe and support you throughout,” she said.
