Kai Kinyanjui Arrested and Charged

Kai Kinyanjui, 19, with no fixed address, was arrested on Tuesday, 26 January. The following day, he was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice. He is set to appear at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 28 January.

Victim Dies After 2018 Collision

The charges stem from a tragic incident on 1 February 2018. Monzir Mohammed, 26, suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision with a car on Twin Tumps Way, Thamesmead. Sadly, Mr Mohammed died in hospital on 21 April 2018. A post-mortem confirmed the cause of death as a severe head injury.

Car Found Destroyed, Investigation Update

The vehicle involved was later discovered wrecked on an industrial estate in Abbey Wood. Kinyanjui had been arrested back in March 2018 on suspicion of attempted murder but was released under investigation. Five others arrested during the probe have been released with no further action.
