North Colerne Man Gets Suspended Jail for Child Abuse Images
Kieran Philip Lee, from Larch Road, North Colerne, appeared via video link at Salisbury Crown Court on 15 June. He was handed an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, for his first offence. Lee also received two further four-month suspended sentences, all served concurrently, meaning he will serve just the eight months suspended.
Strict Terms and Tough Orders
On top of the suspended sentence, Lee must complete 30 days on a rehabilitation sexual offences programme. He’ll also carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and is slapped with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
How Lee Was Caught
Lee’s crimes came to light thanks to intel from cooperating agencies. On 22 July 2020, police raided his home on Larch Road with a Section 8 warrant. Officers arrested him as he returned from work.
Investigators found Lee shared passwords to a cloud account where illegal child abuse images were discovered. He denied deliberately downloading the images when questioned.
Detectives Speak Out
“This was a disturbing case involving a person who was viewing indecent images of children at a very young age,” said Detective Constable Jason Walsh of Wiltshire Police’s Child Internet Exploitation Team.
“We acted quickly, arrested Lee, and seized his devices for evidence.”
“While all these children are real victims, we found no evidence Lee photographed or abused children known to him.”
“This case shows our hard work to catch offenders accessing child abuse images and bring them to justice.”
