Pervert Jamie Lee Parsons Sentenced for Harassing Women in Brighton

Jamie Lee Parsons, 31, of Stanley Court, Lewes Road, Brighton, was locked up for eight months on Tuesday at Hove Crown Court. The unemployed man admitted causing a public nuisance by making lewd and offensive remarks to women in shops and on the streets.

Sexual Harassment Spree on Lewes Road

Between May and October 2021, Parsons targeted female supermarket staff, customers, and women passing by. He bombarded them with inappropriate sexual comments, asked for personal details, and even followed some of them. His behaviour left 10 women feeling scared and distressed.

Police Crack Down After Multiple Reports

Parsons was arrested after one of the shops reported his vile conduct. Brighton Neighbourhood Policing launched a rapid investigation, using CCTV and eyewitness accounts to track Parsons down. Although initially denying wrongdoing, Parsons caved when confronted with overwhelming evidence.

Detective Inspector Simon Morgan said, “We will always seek to take action on reports of inappropriate and offensive behaviour towards women and girls, and will do all we can to prosecute offenders and bring them to justice.”

Restraining Order and Tough Warning

Along with his prison sentence, Parsons received an indefinite restraining order. It bans him from entering the two shops involved, loitering nearby, or contacting the victims. His sexual assault charge remains on file, although he pleaded not guilty to that.

Police Urge Public to Report Harassment

DI Morgan added, “If you face offensive or inappropriate contact in public, we can investigate and take action if there’s enough evidence. Please contact us online or call 101.”
