Knife-wielding thug stabs officer during drug raid
Kuran Gill, 32, launched a vicious knife attack on a police officer during a dramatic raid at his South East home on April 21, 2021.
Violent Ambush in Sun Marsh Way
Police officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate went to Gill’s house to arrest him and search for drugs linked to a major supply investigation. But they were met with hostile resistance.
Gill appeared in the kitchen holding a knife and stabbed one officer in the arm. The injured PC needed surgery but has now made a full recovery and returned to duty.
Grim Court Verdict
At Woolwich Crown Court on July 11, 2023, Gill was found guilty of grievous bodily harm for the knife attack.
He had already been slammed with a seven-year sentence after admitting conspiracy to import cannabis, conspiracy to supply cocaine, and possession of criminal property.
Organised Crime Ring Exposed
Gill was part of a drug-smuggling ring that transported illegal narcotics from Canada into the UK. His co-conspirators received jail terms too:
- Gregory Blacklock, 32, from Maidstone – 3 years
- Govind Bahia, 30, from gravesend/" title="Gravesend" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Gravesend – 3 years
- Jag Singh, 32, from London – 4 years and 9 months
“This officer was just doing his job, and this once again shows us that officers should not be subjected to violence when carrying out their duties,” said Detective Constable Steven Brown.
