Former Ashford Man Jailed Over Sick Child Sex Messages

Sexual Messages to Fake Child Online

Alan Morris, once of Poundhurst Lane, Ruckinge near Ashford, has been locked up after sending sexualised messages and videos – including explicit images of himself – to someone he thought was a child on an internet chat site in February 2024. Morris, who admitted he was 65 in the conversations, broke strict online rules set by the court.

Broke Court Order, Caught by Police

Morris was under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) since 2018, following previous convictions. This court order banned him from accessing the internet without approval and required monitoring software on any devices he used. Ignoring these rules, Morris continued to send indecent material.

Kent Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) arrested Morris on 8 February 2024 after his mobile phone revealed not just recent sexual chats but also indecent images of children. He was charged the same day.

Guilty Pleas of Horrific Offences

Morris pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including attempting to communicate sexually with a child, making and distributing indecent images of children. He further admitted trying to cause a girl to engage in sexual activity and persuade a child to watch sexual acts during chats in October 2023.

Six Years Inside for Child Sex Crimes

On 1 July, Canterbury Crown Court sentenced Morris to six years in prison. This includes a year for breaching his SHPO. He will serve four years on licence once released.

Police Vow to Hunt Down Online Predators

Detective Constable Barbara Zamorska of POLIT said: “Sexual Harm Prevention Orders are crucial to protect children both here and worldwide from predators like Alan Morris.

“Morris showed utter contempt for the court order and kept trying to lure teenage girls online into sexual acts. I hope this sentence sends a clear message that we will track down and bring offenders to justice.”
