East London Drug Dealer Nabbed in Major County Lines Bust
Kent Police have smashed a county lines drugs ring, arresting Darryl Addae, the man behind the notorious ‘Alex’ line.
Caught Red-Handed in Dagenham
Officers swooped on a Dagenham property in east London on Friday, 21 January 2022. Addae, 28, from East Ham, was hauled in and later charged with involvement in Class A drug supply. He pleaded guilty to two counts and was locked up for five years and seven months at Maidstone Crown Court on 7 April.
How the Police Cracked the Case
- Local cops in Ashford spotted suspicious messages in Nov-Dec 2021 offering heroin and crack cocaine.
- Detectives tracked a silver Ford Focus ferrying drugs from east London into Kent.
- Warrant executed at Dagenham property; Addae tried to flee but was swiftly caught.
Police seized the car, scales, cash, and phones. Evidence suggested the gang was pushing drugs as far afield as Northamptonshire.
Crackdown by County Lines and Gangs Team
“The people targeting vulnerable drug users in Kent are often the same traffickers operating nationwide,” said Detective Constable Andrew Julier. “Thanks to the rapid work of Ashford officers and my team, this dangerous county line has been shut down.”
This stunning bust sends a clear message: county lines dealers have nowhere to hide.
