Young Drug Dealer Handed 32 Months in Jail for Peddling Crack and Heroin
Bishop Drug Line Busted in Harlow
Madju Bari, just 20 years old from Bermondsey, London, has been slammed with a 32-month prison sentence at Chelmsford Crown Court. He was caught up in the notorious Bishop drug line, which flooded Harlow with crack cocaine and heroin last year.
Arrest and Court Confession
Bari was arrested on June 17 during a sweep by Operation Raptor officers in Harlow. When grilled about his drug dealing activities, he clammed up, giving a “no comment” at every question.
Eventually charged with supplying crack and heroin, Bari changed tack and pleaded guilty to both counts at court on January 7.
Extra Time Added for Breach
On February 22, the judge handed down 32 months’ jail for the drug offences, with two extra months added for breaching a previous suspended sentence. All sentences will run concurrently.
Police Warn: Drug Dealing Is a Dead End
“If you are involved in drug dealing, it won’t be long before we knock at your door, or stop you in the street, to arrest you,” warned Detective Sergeant James Paget.
“Every day we’re identifying and targeting criminals who sell drugs in our communities. It’s not a quick or glamorous way to make money. Those involved put themselves and others at serious risk because drug dealing comes with violence, grooming, and exploitation.
“The people you think are your friends only care about themselves. You will inevitably be caught, face prison, and destroy your future and family.”
