Monster Robert Parkin Jailed for 24 Years Over Terrifying Crimes
Robert Parkin left his victims haunted by panic attacks, sleepless nights, and chilling fears he’d come after their loved ones. The 35-year-old’s reign of terror has finally ended with a harsh sentence from Derby Crown Court.
Jury Sees Through His Lies
Despite Parkin’s denials, his three brave victims faced their torment in court. The jury found him guilty of rape, stalking, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault. He was sentenced to 24 years behind bars with an extended eight-year licence period due to the ongoing risk he poses.

Victims Reveal Harrowing Impact
The court heard how Parkin’s vile crimes have left permanent scars. One survivor said, “Every day I am still realising the effects of the crimes that have been committed towards me. I can see that these will last for a profound period of time, if not forever.”
She continued: “I have very vivid flashbacks. This often leads to panic attacks at home and in public places. I still often have very restless nights with recurring dreams of me and my family being murdered by him.”
Another victim described the nightmare that followed: “I now struggle with insomnia and when I do manage to sleep I have constant nightmares of feeling trapped or lost in woods. I also have nightmares of Rob being released from prison and coming to my house, trying to get in or sitting in the bushes watching me.”
She added heartbreakingly, “I may have breath in my body and be alive but you have taken my life in so many ways.”
The third survivor spoke of shattered trust and a battle to reclaim her confidence. “It still pains me to this day to talk or express my awful experience. I’m still slowly getting my confidence back. I actually didn’t realise how much it affected me until I started a new relationship, which took a lot to even contemplate.
“I really struggle with trusting people as I still have that thought in my mind that I’m going to be physically or mentally hurt. I have a lot of mental scars and a few physical scars that are constant reminders.”
Detective Praises Victims’ Bravery
Detective Constable Adam Redfern, who led the investigation, said:
“It is abundantly clear the devastating impact Parkin’s behaviour has had on these three women. I hope the outcome of the case offers some closure as they rebuild their lives and cast off the dark cloud Parkin’s actions have placed over them.”
He added:
“I cannot praise the bravery of these women enough, for reporting the trauma and reliving it in court. They have been resolute throughout and should be proud of their strength.”
Redfern stressed:
“This case shows how seriously we take allegations and how thoroughly we investigate them. Violence and sexual violence has no place in society. We will do all we can to bring perpetrators to justice.”
