Shoplifter Nabbed at TK Maxx Thanks to Quick-Thinking Police
Police community support officers Keith Crowhurst and Allan Cooke from the Gedling South Neighbourhood Policing Team sprang into action after security detained a suspect caught shoplifting at TK Maxx, Victoria Retail Park, Netherfield.
The PCSOs held the thief tight until PC James Gill arrived to make the official arrest.
Another Criminal Caught Fleeing on a Bike
While wrapping up that arrest, officers spotted another man cycling away from the retail park. He was wanted for failing to appear in court over a drug driving charge.
A Gedling Operation Reacher team officer quickly stopped and arrested the 53-year-old on suspicion of cannabis possession.

These arrests on Thursday, 13 April 2023, highlight the police’s commitment to working with local businesses to fight shop theft and protect the community.

The Court Cases
- Albert Marin, 45, with no fixed address, was charged with four counts of shop theft plus going equipped for theft. He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 15 April 2023. Marin was granted conditional bail with a ban on entering any TK Maxx stores. He must return to Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 12 May 2023.
- Paul Asbury, 53, also with no fixed address and arrested for failing to appear in court, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 14 April. He received a 12-month driving ban, a £120 fine, £85 court costs, and a £48 victim surcharge.
