Man Threatens Staff at Maidstone Foyer
A 55-year-old man caused chaos at Trinity Foyer on Church Street on Tuesday 17 October 2023. He made multiple visits, threatening staff and hurling abusive language.
Maidstone Police Crack Down
The Maidstone Victim Based Crime Team launched an investigation. Darren Turpin, from Marsham Street, Maidstone, was arrested on 9 November. He now faces serious charges:
- Three counts of assault
- Breaching a criminal behaviour order
- Seven counts of possessing offensive weapons
Authorities found several homemade throwing stars, also known as metal shurikens, among the seized items.
Magistrates Court Appearance and Next Steps
On Friday 10 November, Turpin appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was remanded in custody. His next hearing is set for Wednesday 15 November.
