Two Young Boys Found Dead in Dagenham Home

Tragedy struck in Dagenham on Friday afternoon when emergency services discovered the bodies of two young boys at a house on Cornwallis Road. The victims, aged two and five, were pronounced dead at the scene around 2 p.m.

Woman Arrested, Man Released in Connection

Shortly after the grim discovery, police arrested a 44-year-old woman following reports of a disturbance nearby on Maxey Road. She remains in custody as the investigation continues. A man, also arrested near the scene, has since been released without charge.

Neighbours Report ‘Loud Screaming’ Before Discovery

Witnesses told officers they heard loud screaming before the tragedy unfolded. Both children were known to the woman in custody, heightening the police’s concerns as they investigate.

“This is clearly an extremely distressing incident with many unanswered questions,” said Detective Inspector Sean Treweek. “We thank the local community for their support and urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Ongoing Investigation and Call for Witnesses

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the inquiry. Post-mortem examinations and formal identifications are set to take place soon. The family is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
