Sex Offender Thomas Cannon Locked Up Again for Targeting Underage Girl
Thomas Cannon, 32, a registered sex offender, has landed behind bars once more. He was previously convicted in 2018 for grooming a 15-year-old girl.
New Online Predator Sting
Fresh out of prison, Cannon thought he was chatting sexually with a 13-year-old girl online. But undercover cops from Tarian and Dyfed-Powys Police swooped in and arrested him swiftly.
Shocking Breaches and Indecent Images Found
During his arrest, officers discovered Cannon had indecent images on his devices. Having already been on the sex offenders register, he had also flouted strict legal restrictions.
Judge Bans Predator for Nearly Three Years
On Thursday, November 3, Cannon appeared at 1 Crown Court where he pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to two years and eight months behind bars.
Detective Inspector Mathew Davies said: “Cannon posed a serious and dangerous risk to children, and it is our absolute priority to protect and keep children safe in our communities.
“Tarian has specialist officers who work tirelessly in partnership with other forces, organisations, and the Child Exploitation Online Protection Centre to protect children from sexual exploitation and dangerous offenders such as Cannon.
“We will relentlessly seek to bring to justice offenders who continue to use the web to facilitate the abuse of children.”
