Predatory Rapist Scott Mucklow Locked Up for Life

Scott Mucklow, 29, from Denham Way, Camber, was handed a life sentence at Brighton Crown Court on Thursday, 24 February. He was convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl at his home in 2009, and then assaulting another girl aged 16 to 17 multiple times years later. One attack took place at a property in Lydd, Kent, and two more at his own address.

Victims’ Courage Brings Rapist to Justice

Mucklow will now be registered as a sex offender for life. Although he was found not guilty of coercive and controlling conduct against the second victim, his dark deeds have finally caught up with him.

“Mucklow had seen his first victim in the street near his home, and although several years older than her, he eventually got her to his home where he raped her. She felt unable to report this until 2017,” said Detective Constable Paul Harrison from the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit.

“He later formed a relationship with his second victim and raped her several times. Initially supportive of him, she came forward only after learning of the first victim’s allegation and escaping the abusive relationship. Their bravery in giving evidence was vital in bringing Mucklow to justice.”

“Mucklow was a predatory and oppressive exploiter of these two young girls. This sentencing shows we can successfully investigate offenders and support their victims,” Harrison added.

Justice Served at Last

The case highlights the importance of survivors speaking out, even years after abuse. Thanks to their strength and the police’s determination, Mucklow’s reign of terror is over.
