Man Charged Over Firearm Linked to Hayley Burke Murder
A Dartford man has been hauled before court accused of having a firearm connected to the tragic murder of Hayley Burke. The 36-year-old was shot during a hostage ordeal at a Dartford home on Friday night, reportedly involving her violent ex-partner, Jacob Cloke.
Terry Beaton Arrested and Denies Charges
Terry Beaton, 28, appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court this morning after being detained following the hostage situation that left Ms Burke critically wounded. She later died in hospital two days after the shooting. Another man, identified as Jacob Cloke, remains in critical condition.
Additional Drug Charge Lands Beaton in Custody
Beaton faces another blow — he was charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis after officers reportedly found 490 grams of the drug when arrested on May 9. Appearing via video link, Beaton denied all charges.
Case Sent to Crown Court
Magistrates promptly sent the case to Woolwich Crown Court for further proceedings. Beaton was remanded in custody and is due to appear again on June 8.
