Man Charged Over Firearm in Dartford Hostage Horror
A man has appeared in court charged with possessing a firearm linked to the murder of Hayley Burke. The 36-year-old was shot during a terrifying hostage situation at a Dartford home on Friday night. The attack involved her violent ex-partner, Jacob Cloke, a convicted thug now fighting for life in hospital.
Terry Beaton Denies Firearm and Drug Charges
Terry Beaton, 28, from Dartford, faced Medway Magistrates this morning after being arrested following the hostage incident. He is accused of having a firearm connected to the shooting and also possession with intent to supply nearly half a kilogram (490 grams) of cannabis, found when he was caught on May 9.
Victim Dies; Shooter Cloke in Critical Condition
Hayley Burke died in hospital two days after being shot at the scene. Jacob Cloke remains critically ill from injuries sustained during the ordeal.
Case Heads to Woolwich Crown Court
Beaton appeared via video link and denied all charges. Magistrates have sent the case to Woolwich Crown Court for trial. He remains in custody and is due back on June 8.
