Paedophile Jeffrey Owens Jailed for Horrific Child Sex Crimes
Jeffrey Owens, 44, has been locked up for over eight years after horrifying online chats revealed he sexually assaulted children multiple times.
NCA Crack Down on Monster’s Sick Online Chats
Specialist National Crime Agency (NCA) investigators tracked Owens discussing his vile sexual interest in children across several chat platforms.
He detailed assaults on two children on numerous occasions, even threatening them to keep silent. Owens was arrested in May 2020, and evidence showed he had sexually abused the kids at least 11 times.
Thousands of Disturbing Images Found on Multiple Devices
Police recovered chat logs where Owens boasted about abusing children and shared indecent images. Officers seized over 4,000 indecent images of children across several devices, including some he secretly filmed himself using hidden cameras.
Owens Faces Justice – Lifetime Sex Offender
Earlier this year, Owens pleaded guilty to 26 offences, including:
- Sexual assault of a child under 13
- Engaging in sexual activity in presence of children (7 counts)
- Causing children to watch sexual acts
- Voyeurism (3 counts)
- Indecency with a child (4 counts)
Today, Manchester Minshull Street Court sentenced Owens to eight years and six months in prison plus four years on licence. He was also slapped with an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
NCA Vows to Keep Dangerous Predators Off Streets
“Owens is a persistent offender who sought out every opportunity to abuse children,” said Mark Barrow from the NCA. “He sexually assaulted them repeatedly, forced them to watch him, and blackmailed them into silence. This investigation has put a dangerous predator behind bars, which is our top priority. We will keep hunting offenders and urge platforms to step up and help stop child sexual abuse online.”
Both children have now been safeguarded.
