Drugs Gangster Caught Red-Handed in East London Crackdown

Jordan Samuel-Welsh, 24, from Thrasher Close, E8, faced Thames Magistrates’ Court last Friday after pleading guilty to multiple serious drug charges. The young dealer was busted with class A and B drugs as well as criminal property.

Snared During Sting Operation

On Tuesday, 10 November, officers from the Violent Crime Taskforce were patrolling as part of Operation Sceptre when they spotted a shady drug deal in a Richardson Close car park, E8. Officers detained two men and found incriminating evidence on Samuel-Welsh—a battered Nokia phone loaded with texts about drug deals. Nearby, three rocks of suspected crack-cocaine were found, traced back to him.

Immediately arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs, Samuel-Welsh erupted into hysterics, shouting warnings to associates on the street. Police say this was a brazen attempt to tip off others to destroy evidence at his home. Luckily for the cops, it failed.

Den Full of Drugs and Cash

Searches at Samuel-Welsh’s flat uncovered a sizeable stash of class A drugs including a large rock of uncut crack cocaine, a hefty bag of heroin, and additional smaller crack rocks. Officers also seized £470 in cash, scales, and a flick-knife.

Samuel-Welsh was charged and sent straight to custody ahead of his sentencing hearing at Wood Green Crown Court on 19 November.

Detectives Hail Victory in Fight Against Knife Crime

“The evidence was so overwhelming, Samuel-Welsh had no choice but to plead guilty to dealing class A drugs to vulnerable people,” said Detective Inspector Sean Lyons of the Central East Gangs Taskforce.

“Drugs are tightly linked to violence. Samuel-Welsh is connected with gangs and poses a serious threat.”

“This bust highlights the power of stop and search in getting dangerous criminals off the streets and protecting the public.”

“Operation Sceptre is a week-long blitz targeting knife and gang crime—we won’t stop pressing the fight.”

Community Help Needed to Tackle London Violence

Police urge locals to share any information, no matter how small, to help catch criminals and keep London safe from knife crime.

“Every tip can save lives,” added DI Lyons.
