No Fixed Address Man Jailed After Ambulance Joyride Sparks Chaos in Leeds
Peter Sayner, 42, with no fixed address, faces a raft of serious charges after a wild ambulance joyride in Leeds. He’s been charged with two counts of assaulting emergency workers, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance.
Ambulance Snatched Outside Patient’s Home
The drama unfolded on Friday, November 25, when Sayner seized a Yorkshire Ambulance Service vehicle outside a Pudsey address. The ambulance staff were busy responding to a patient inside the property when Sayner made off with the vehicle.
Thirty Minutes of Mayhem Across Leeds Suburbs
Sayner then recklessly tore through Stanningley, Armley, and Bramley for half an hour. During this dangerous spree, he crashed into four other cars, damaging both their vehicles and the ambulance.
Remanded in Custody Ahead of Crown Court Hearing
Sayner appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody. He is due to face Leeds Crown Court on December 23 for the next stage of his case.
