Knife Scare at East London Mosque

Sajjit Miah, 40, from Old Church Road, E1, was charged with carrying offensive weapons. The drama unfolded on Tuesday, 3 January, when police were called to a mosque in Ford Square at around 12:30pm after reports of a man wielding a knife.

Quick Police Action Avoids Tragedy

Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident. Miah was arrested and charged on Thursday, 5 January with two counts of possession of an offensive weapon. He was remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing at Thames Magistrates Court the same day.
