Man Found Dead After Brutal Assault in Dorset
Dorset Police were called to a Frances Road home at 10:08am on Saturday 17 December 2022, where a man in his 40s was found unresponsive. Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
Assault Took Place Late Friday Night
Investigations revealed the victim was attacked sometime after 11pm on Friday 16 December. Another man was also reportedly assaulted at the address that same night.
Major Crime Unit Launches Probe – Three Arrested
- Detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team acted swiftly.
- Three arrests were made on Saturday 17 December.
- 28-year-old Alex Banda from Poole has now been charged with murder and assault by beating.
- Banda is set to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 19 December.
- A 39-year-old man from Bournemouth was released without charge.
- A 34-year-old woman from Wareham, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on police bail.

Detective Inspector Neil Third said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who died and we are supporting them fully.”
“This investigation moved fast, and with CPS backing, charges have been filed.”
“We urge the public to avoid online speculation that could prejudice court proceedings. The justice system must be allowed to do its job.”
