Homeless Man Busted for Attempted Robberies with Fake Gun in East London

Two Shocking Hold-Up Attempts in Just Two Days

Duwayne McCullam, 51, with no fixed address, was arrested and charged last Saturday, 13 November, following two brazen robbery attempts in East London.

First Crime at Cannon Street Road

On Tuesday, 9 November, McCullam targeted a commercial premises on Cannon Street Road, E1. He faces charges of attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm while committing a Schedule 1 offence.

Second Incident at Garnet Street

Just a day later, on Wednesday, 10 November, McCullam struck again at another commercial property on Garnet Street, E1. He was charged with similar offences: attempted robbery and possession of a fake gun during the crime.

Injuries Reported, Court Date Set

  • A man in his 40s suffered a head injury during the Cannon Street Road incident.
  • Another man in his 50s was hurt at the Garnet Street location.

Neither victim’s injuries were life-threatening. McCullam remains in custody and is due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday, 13 December.
