Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Barking Shooting
A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious shooting in Barking.
Jamie Reid Arrested and Remanded
Jamie Reid, from Glenthorne Road, W6, was arrested on Friday, 19 June. He faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent, and possession of ammunition. Reid appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court the next day and was remanded in custody. He’s due back at the Old Bailey on Friday, 17 July.
Woman Also Charged in Connection
Earlier in the investigation, 26-year-old Rushelle McLaughlin of Northolt, Middlesex, was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. She was charged on Monday, 15 June, and remains in custody. McLaughlin is set to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, 14 July.
Three Men Injured in June 4 Shooting
- The incident took place on Thursday, 4 June, at Wilmington Gardens.
- Police found two injured men at the scene.
- A 24-year-old suffered serious gunshot wounds and is still in critical condition in hospital.
- The second man suffered less severe injuries.
- A 27-year-old man arrested on 9 June in West Ealing on suspicion of attempted murder was released under investigation.
