Knife Attack in Knightsbridge Ends in Murder Conviction
Badir Al-Nazi Jailed for Murder of Young Man
Badir Al-Nazi, 24, of no fixed abode, has been found guilty of murdering 20-year-old Mohammed Al-Araimi. The verdict came after a trial at Inner London Crown Court on Friday, 13 August. Al-Nazi had earlier admitted possession of a bladed article.
Accomplice Cleared of Murder but Guilty of Wounding
Al-Nazi’s accomplice, 23-year-old Arseboon Dilbaro, also homeless, was cleared of Mohammed’s murder and possession of a bladed weapon. However, he was found guilty of wounding Mohammed’s friend during the attack. Both men were acquitted of attempted robbery charges.
Deadly Ambush in Knightsbridge Alleyway
The court heard how Mohammed and his friend had met for dinner in Knightsbridge on 5 December 2019. After leaving the restaurant shortly after midnight, the pair walked down an alley between Basil Street and Sloane Street — where Al-Nazi and Dilbaro were waiting.
Just steps into the alley, Al-Nazi stabbed Mohammed in the chest while Dilbaro attacked his friend. Both victims fled but Mohammed collapsed on Hans Crescent and later died at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.
Police Detective Praises Jury and Unmasks Attackers
“I am delighted that Badir Al-Nazi has been found guilty of the murder of Mohammed Al-Araimi and Arseboon Dilbaro for the attack on his friend,” said Detective Inspector James Howarth. “Mohammed and his friend were innocent, going about their normal routines when they were senselessly attacked.”
“Al-Nazi tried to damage Mohammed’s memory during the trial, but the jury saw through his lies. Both families remain devastated, and I hope these convictions help them find some closure.”
