Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance of the Specialist Crime Command said: “This was a brutal and horrific attack on Krasimir by someone he knew and had allowed into his home.

“Zhivkov failed to take any responsibility. Now he must face what he did to a man who trusted him as a friend.”

“I commend witnesses who helped identify Zhivkov and my team of detectives who worked around the clock for justice.”

“Though the motive remains unclear, Krasimir’s family can find some closure knowing a dangerous criminal is behind bars.”

A sentencing date is yet to be announced.
