Kieron Brown Jailed for Manslaughter of Young Londoner in Knife Horror
Kieron Brown, 27, from Mabley Street, East London, was found guilty of manslaughter for the stabbing death of 22-year-old Exauce Ngimbi. The Harrow Crown Court handed down an 18-year sentence on Wednesday, 25 November – 15 years behind bars and three on licence. Brown must serve at least two-thirds of his sentence.
Stabbing Shocks East London
The tragic attack happened on 5 December 2019 in Clarence Mews, E5. Police rushed to the scene at 2pm after reports of a stabbing. Despite efforts from officers, London Ambulance Service, and Air Ambulance crews, Exauce was pronounced dead at 2.33pm. A post mortem revealed he suffered eight stab wounds to the heart and aorta.
From Fight to Fatal Stabbing
Brown was originally charged with murder and possession of a weapon two days after the incident, on 7 December. Exauce and Brown had clashed the day before the stabbing, but the cause of their fight remains unclear. At trial, Brown was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter and carrying a bladed article.
Detective’s Warning on Knife Crime
“Yet another young life has sadly been lost due to knife crime,” said Detective Inspector Rita Tierney. “While there was no evidence that Brown intended to commit murder, carrying a knife enabled him to cause fatal injuries that led to manslaughter.
“This has been a harrowing and complex case. I hope the efforts of my officers bring Exauce’s family some comfort now that his killer is behind bars. Our thoughts remain with them as they grieve.”
