Fake Fence Fixer Busted in Luton
Sean Fury, 40, from St Thomas Road, Luton, conned a man on Barton Road by pretending to be a neighbour. Claiming he’d moved into a house with a shared garden, Fury said he needed to trim some trees to raise his back fence.

Fury told the victim he had been quoted £400 and asked if he could chip in half. The man agreed and handed over £200 the next day. But officers on the beat spotted Fury acting suspiciously as he left the property and checked in with the victim.
Police Snare ‘Tim’ for Burglary
It quickly emerged that “Tim” was a fake identity and Fury didn’t live at the address he claimed. He was arrested shortly after.
Fury pleaded guilty to burglary at Luton Crown Court on 6 July and was slapped with a tough sentence of two years and eight months behind bars.
“Fury was caught thanks to the sharp eye of officers who saw him leaving the scene,” said Detective Constable Jason Wheeler of Operation Maze, the police burglary team. “I hope this sentence gives him a chance to reflect and get the help he needs to change.”
“We remain committed to bringing criminals who target vulnerable homeowners to justice,” he added.
