Organised Drugs Gang Boss Jailed After Massive UK Supply Bust
Lee Silvester, 41, from Bromley, was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on Wednesday, 10 April. The court found him guilty of four counts of conspiracy to supply and four counts of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.
International Crime Network Dismantled
Detective Constable Brendan Kennedy, leading the investigation, said: “Silvester’s sentence wraps up a long-running case targeting organised drug crime. Our evidence showed he was tied to smuggling Class A drugs into the UK through overseas criminals.”
“With help from international law enforcement partners, we dealt them a serious logistical and financial blow.”
DC Kennedy added: “We want to make London a no-go zone for drug dealers. The best deterrent for this activity is years behind bars.”
Key Arrests and Seizures
- April 2022: Officers spotted a man unloading Class A drugs worth £600,000 from a vehicle at a West London storage unit. He was arrested, convicted, and jailed for over five years.
- Further investigations uncovered that Silvester was the mastermind directing this operation. Police seized his phone and tracked his communications.
- September 2022: Silvester was arrested after being caught with Class A drugs valued at over £50,000 in his vehicle on the A249.
- Police searches of Silvester’s home found a stash of drugs, heat sealing equipment, packaging materials, and a burner phone linking him to accomplices.
- He was also linked to the storage unit alongside another drug dealer.
Swift Justice Secured
Silvester faced trial at Kingston Crown Court, where a jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict after less than three hours of deliberation. He now faces a lengthy prison sentence for his key role in the drug supply chain.
