Drug Dealer Busted in Southampton Sting with £51k of Class A Drugs
County Lines Dealer Caught Red-Handed
Mohammed Artan, 36, from Golden Grove, Southampton, has been locked up for three years and four months after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, crack cocaine, and cocaine. The drugs and paraphernalia seized during his arrest will be destroyed.
Police Raid Uncovers Hidden Stash
On 11 March, during County Lines Intensification Week—a national crackdown on illicit drug networks—Southampton’s High Harm Team stormed a property on Centenary Plaza at 8.15am. Officers forced their way in to prevent anyone inside from destroying evidence.
Inside, Artan was arrested. A clever search revealed a hidden stash behind a loose ceiling tile near the front door. The ceiling cavity contained a large bag of white powder, digital scales, cling film, and other drug-related items.
Drugs Worth Over £50,000 Seized
- Crack cocaine with a street value of £22,700
- Heroin valued at £28,700
- Cutting agents used in drug production
The total haul was worth an eye-watering £51,400.
Police Warn of Dangers of Class A Drugs
“Drugs, especially Class A drugs, cause massive harm to our community,” said DC Andrew Ferguson, who led the operation. “The supply brings organised crime, serious violence, firearms possession, and exploitation of vulnerable adults and children. Artan was a crucial link broken by this arrest.”
He added, “County Lines Intensification Week highlights the constant tough work by our High Harm Team to disrupt drug dealing. We want communities to feel safer. If you spot drug activity in your neighbourhood, report it.”
