Bodies of Three Israeli Victims Found in Gaza

The bodies of Hanan Yablonka, Michel Nisenbaum, and Orion Hernandez have been discovered, with families now informed. The Israeli army confirmed they were killed during the violent Hamas-led attack at the Mefalsim intersection on October 7. Their bodies were taken to Gaza. This grim discovery comes less than a week after the army recovered three other Israeli hostages killed during the same assault.

Massive Hamas Attack Left Over 1,200 Dead and 250 Abducted

The brutal Hamas-led assault killed around 1,200 people, mostly civilians. About 250 were kidnapped during the chaos. Since then, roughly half the hostages have been freed, mostly traded in prisoner swaps during a short cease-fire last November.

Hundreds Still Held Hostage as Tensions Soar

Despite prisoner exchanges, nearly 100 hostages remain captive in Gaza along with about 30 recovered bodies. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vows to wipe out Hamas and bring every hostage home, but progress is painfully slow. Meanwhile, the US has threatened to cut back its support over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

International Pressure Mounts on Israel

The International Court of Justice is expected to rule on South Africa’s urgent plea demanding Israel halt military operations. Though Israel is unlikely to comply, the ruling will increase global pressure on the nation.

Divided Opinions and Rising Anger in Israel

Inside Israel, opinion is split between calls for a temporary ceasefire to save hostages and those willing to accept losses to defeat Hamas. Negotiations, involving Qatar, the US, and Egypt, have made little headway. Hostage families’ frustration boils over, recently releasing footage showing Hamas capturing five Israeli female soldiers near the Gaza border on October 7.
